This class is available for up to 8 dogs and their campers.
This is for the dog and handler team that have been taking classes and hasn’t made that step to competition and/or those teams that are competing at the novice/starters level and want to fine tune their handling to help them to the next level. Simple sequencing with instructions on how to improve your team’s performance.

Advanced Agility-Experience Required

This class is available for up to 8 dogs and their campers.
This is for the dog and handler teams that have been competing in agility. Their dog knows all the obstacles and they want to be challenged and take a step to better their performance in the ring.

Strategic Pairs Game - Amazing Race

Class size is limited to 4 teams of 2 people. It is imperative that all team members and their partners arrive on time as special instructions to the Amazing Race will be given at the beginning of the class and then teams will run.
Two campers and their dogs compete as a team on a special agility course. You and your teammate will need to work together to get through the course while working through challenges! The team with the fastest time will be the Big Winner!

Address those things you and your 4 footed teammates need to get just right. Improve your communication skills and have the dream team you always knew you could. This small setting will allow you to work and watch in a tiny class environment - the very best way to learn and create an open flow of information and communication.

Can Your Dog dog-paddle? No experience required

This class is available for up to 8 dogs and their campers. Does your dog know how to swim? Or are they just thrashing around and trying to get back to shore? Teach your dog this fundamental skill and give them a lifesaving skill, as well as a joyful activity for the rest of their life.

Water Games

This class is available for up to 8 dogs and their campers. Dogs will compete on a timed course involving water skills and beach play! Prizes!

Kayak Tour-experience required

Experience required. Limit of 6 Campers. Enjoy a scenic paddle along the shores of Lake Tahoe

Introduction to Scent Work - no experience required

This class is available for 10 campers. Scent Work is a sport that mimics the task of working detection dogs to locate a scent and communicate to the handler that the scent has been found. This class will teach you the basics and get you started on an exhilarating sport in that any dog, at any age, can be successful. Real-life detection dogs are trained to search for a variety of things–drugs, explosives, human remains, currency, humans (such as for Search and Rescue), and much more. Scent Work takes this amazing working relationship and turns it into a fun game that any dog can play.

Scent Work Challenges- experience required for both dog & handler

This class is available for up to 8 dogs and their campers. Learn more complex techniques and advanced scent hides.

Find My Keys - no experience required

This class is available for 10 campers and dogs. Teach your dog to find lost items like keys. Train your dog to follow specific scents and find “lost keys” or any other item.

Antler Hunt - no experience required

This class is available for up to 10 dogs and their campers. This class is about the fastest-growing sport in Dog World-Shed Antler Hunting!
Using plastic antlers that have been covered in “deer scent” your dog will be taught to hunt antlers. After this class, your dog will have the ability to find “real” antlers in the wild. Shed deer antlers are used as chew treats for dogs, buttons, door handles, home decor, and more.

Show Me the $money$

This class is available for 10 campers. Teach your dog to sniff out $ all while teaching and sharpening your dog’s scent work skills.

Scent Work Games

This course is limited to 12 campers. Have some and playfully sharpen those nosework skills with these games.

Leash Reactivity - no experience required

Specializing on aggression in Dogs, this lecture and demo are for any camper and dog who have experienced some “misbehavior” while their dog is on leash. Does your dog get too excited? Start to bark or growl? Go from being a love bug to Godzilla if they see another dog or person while on leash? Learn from the best on positive ways to correct unruly, fear-aggressive, or “I’m in a naughty mood” behavior!

Problem Solving

CGC

Is your dog a “Good Citizen?” Show the world and get your certifications. Training sessions to prepare you for the Canine Good Citizen test. A CGC is earned when the dog and handler together master ten basic skills. Canine Good Citizen instills confidence and good manners for your dog(s) in and out of the house. Accomplishing CGC builds a long-lasting relationship between you and your dog, all while practicing good behavior in public.

CGCA

The next level up of Canine Good Citizen. More advanced skills, impulse control, and advanced cues. If a dog has already earned their CGC, in order to receive their CGCA they must prove able to do ten more advanced skills, such as proper recall.

Therapy

A therapy dog certification means that both handler and dog have completed a series of advanced tests that will prepare them for a life in community service. Once certified a therapy dog is qualified to volunteer in a variety of different community service situations, such as rehabilitation facilities, libraries, hospitals, disaster sites, airport ambassadors, doctors’ offices, and schools. A therapy dog will work comforting children that are learning new skills all the way to giving lonely seniors some cuddly company. A therapy dog and their owner work in unison to improve the lives of people around them. WE DO TRAINING FOR THERAPY TESTING. ACTUAL TESTING IS DONE THROUGH THE ORGANIZATION YOU CHOOSE TO WORK WITH.

Let’s Go, Bar Hopping! Single Jump Exercises

This class is available for 10 campers and dogs. There is more than one way to take a jump! Teaching different jump cues, like turning tightly around a wing, jumping forward in extension, and pushing to the backside of a jump will facilitate clear communication, and result in faster and more efficient agility runs. The best part is that you only need one jump to work on all of these skills!
*No agility experience necessary; this class can be taken as an introduction to jumping, or as an advanced skill to shave seconds off of your time in the ring.

The Magic of Free Shaping

This class is available for up to 10 dogs and their campers. Free shaping is a type of training where we teach behaviors in gradual steps, with a marker (like a clicker) and rewards. In particular, free shaping relies on the dog offering behaviors rather than being prompted or manipulated to do them. This makes free shaping one of the best ways to provide your dog with mental stimulation, strengthen their learning skills, build motivation & engagement, and teach behaviors that are likely to be retained for much longer than skills taught with other methods. In this class we will use free shaping to learn; Go to Your Bed/Mat, Sad Puppy (chin rest), beginning perch work (On Your Mark/front paws on an elevated surface), and how to play the Hot & Cold game.

Building Focus & Engagement

This class is available for up to 10 dogs and their campers. Ever have trouble getting your dog to pay attention to you, especially in public or around distractions? Focus & engagement are more than just nice to have, they are crucial keys to success in all dog training! A focused dog is able to listen to any cues you may give and an engaged dog is enthusiastic & ready to work. This class introduces basic concepts and exercises to help build focus & engagement with your do.

Hoop It Up

Join us to make and decorate a "hula hoop" to take home, enjoy learning individual tricks, and play group games that incorporate the hoop as a prop. We may even enter the talent show with a group "Hounds Hooping it Up" routine!
