Thank you Wild Blue Dog Supporters! Your support and enthusiasm has been overwhelming. 2019 Dog Camp was sold out 5 months ahead of time, leaving many dogs and their human companions very disappointed.
As a result, we are adding a second week of Wild Blue Dog Camp!
2020 Dog Camp Dates
May 31-June 6, 2020
September 7-13, 2020
The camps will both take place in South Lake Tahoe at the 4H Campground and will be similar, in most ways, but each camp will also have unique learning experiences, instructors and activities (one week isn't enough time to cover all the fun and activities that are available!).
A few things to consider when choosing which camp session will best suit you and your pooch:
Temperatures will be lower in June-primarily in the 70's during the day. June camp will have 60 or less campers. Class and hike sizes will be smaller. If you want a more relaxed atmosphere with fewer campers and dogs-this is your best choice. Lake water temperatures will still be quite cool (the dogs won't care but if you personally like to swim this would be a factor). Lake Tahoe tourist season is not in full swing yet so the town will not be crowded or the highways as heavily trafficked The wildflowers will be in bloom-it's gorgeous.
September will usually be warmer with temperatures in the 80's. This will be our busiest and largest camp. We will limit some class sizes and will have plenty of staff to ensure that every camper has a great experience. Lake Tahoe will be at it's warmest, having had the entire summer to warm up. The kids will be back in school but the tourists will still be there so expect crowded highways traveling to camp.
We are currently revamping our website and camp pages to accommodate these huge changes. Check back with us for more details. If you are already on our mailing list or are a returning camper you will receive an email letting you know when camp registration is open.
If you are not on our mailing list, but are interested in Dog Camp for 2020, sign up now and you will be notified as soon as registration opens. All profits from Wild Blue Dog Camp go to canine cancer treatment and research-we truly Play with Purpose. Join us!
