All hikes meet at the PARKING LOT.
WE WILL DRIVE TO THE TRAIL HEADS and carpooling is encouraged.
please bring water for yourself and your dog!
Please note all hikes are subject to change based on weather conditions.
Bring towels to cover car seats and to wipe off your dog.
Be sure to speak with the hike leaders if you have any questions on trail terrain and ability levels.

Description
This is a level trail through the Rabe Meadow which is just north of camp. It can be short or long depending on which trail loops you would like to take. We will walk from camp out through the entrance and loop around to end at the 4-H beach. There are restrooms located in the campground area which will be near the end of the hike. Leashes are required until we get to the meadow area. As this is the first group hike only dogs with great recall and interactions should be off leash when appropriate.
Leashes are required at all timeS due to local regulations.

Description
A favorite amongst both locals and visitors alike, this beach is at the mouth of Taylor Creek. We will start by following the Rainbow Trail boardwalk through the aspen forest. Then the trail will wind through the forest to the shoreline. There are wonderful views from the vantage point. We will also have the chance to have a quick look at the Taylor Creek Stream Profile Chamber. Pups aren't allowed inside but its well worth a quick look.

Description
This is a loop hike that is approximately 2.5 miles. There are 2 rock outcroppings which allow for wonderful pictures with the lake in the background. There is a portion of the longer trail with a small waterfall and creek. The uphill portion is moderate and there are restrooms at the trailhead.

Description
This is an out-and-back primarily level hike with a few areas of uneven terrain. This beautiful hike will take you to the north shore of Fallen Leaf Lake where the pups can play at the water’s edge. There are plenty of downed trees for pups to “parkour” on. There is also the option to extend the hike by an additional 0.5 miles for those who want to walk along the water’s edge to the lake’s dam.

Description
A special treat! This a 2.8 mile out-and-back trail. You will walk down a USFS access road to the secluded shoreline and a historical stone building from the 1920s. This area can only be accessed from the hiking trail or a boat. The way back is all uphill. There are no restrooms or trash bins so be prepared. Feel free to bring a towel and a bathing suit to cool off and take a swim!

Description
A short hike at a viewpoint with stunning views of the lake. Easy looping trails around the viewpoint and down to rocks by the water. A great spot for a short walk, and excellent spot for photos of your dog with the lake in the background.

Description
An easy 0.8-mile out-and-back trail leads up and over the rock formation, ending in an optional short rock scramble that offers panoramic, postcard-worthy views of the lake. Even without the final scramble, there are stunning views from the trail looking north and south at the lake. Cave Rock is 360 foot volcanic rock monolith, famous for it's highway tunnels and cultural significance. For the Washoe Tribe, the indigenous people of the Tahoe Basin, Cave Rock (known as De'ek Wadapush) is a deeply sacred site charged with spiritual energy, historically reserved for shamans and traditional ceremonies.

Description
One of our more challenging hikes, this is an out-and-back hike with portions of rocky terrain. It is moderately challenging with very good views of Lake Tahoe from above. Elevation change is approximately 570 feet and it takes about an hour and a half to two hours to complete, so clear your afternoon schedule to enjoy this wonderful hike. There are restrooms at the trailhead.

Description
A spectacular drive up and over Kingsbury Grade brings us down into the Carson Valley. Tucked against the mountains is Genoa, Nevada’s oldest settlement, brimming with history. The trail is a paved, mostly flat easy 1.1 mile walk into town and back, or we can start in town – it will the group’s choice on the day. Excellent views of mountains and the Carson Valley abound.

Description
Starting from Daggett Summit at the top of Kingsbury Grade, we’ll access the Tahoe Rim Trail at Daggett’s Pass. After an initial uphill section, we’ll meander on the trail for about a mile to explore the area before returning. A great way to experience a small slice of Tahoe’s most famous trail.

Description
This trail takes you to the top of Round Hill which is located north of the 4-H camp. It is a short hike with portions of fairly steep uphill to the top (breather breaks will be taken). The view from the top is wonderful with a great view of the 4-H camp. There is also the option to then do the lower portion of the hike along the Marla Bay southern shoreline. There are no restrooms or water so be prepared.
